AS Interface Bus Comminication

AS interface devices are used to build control systems based on a two-wire communication cable known as a bus. These can be controlled or monitored via a digital signal sent through the bus to a “master” device (which can be a computer or PLC).

Technıcal Specıfıcatıons

  • Master – Slave protocol
  • Up to 62 Slaves per Master (using extended addressing)
  • Each Slave has its own unique address (user determined)
  • All Slaves can be scanned every 5 milliseconds
  • Baud Rate – 197 Kbit/second
  • Slaves can be added anywhere on the bus
  • Slaves can be connected in parallel to the bus using star or spur configurations
  • Up to 124 inputs per bus
  • Up to 124 outputs per bus, using Kinetrol device 62
  • 26.5 – 31.5 Vdc, 8 A max. power supply
  • 100 m (325 ft) maximum cable length (repeaters can extend network distance)
  • Untwisted, unshielded, 2-wire (1.5 mm²) cable available
